I’m not the skinniest girl in the world, nor have I ever stopped a boy in his tracks just so he could get a second look at me. But there was a time, where even the thought of having a camera on me made me nervous. I don’t wear make up, and I rarely do my hair. So I always scared of what the camera would find.
Today, I am comfortable with who I am. I took this picture myself and smiled because I liked what I saw. So to anyone that feels like they aren’t pretty enough, or skinny enough, or don’t have to “right look,” I hope there is a day when you look at a picture of yourself, or see yourself in the mirror, and smile. It’s okay to love exactly who you are, no matter how many magazines, or movies, or TV shows, or red carpet events, tell you you shouldn’t. You are beautiful. And as the wonderful Hayley Williams once said, “B.O.Y. means ‘Beware of You.’ Be aware of your power. We have the choice to live positively or in our own destruction.”
